FAQ
Finance /Budgets / Dues

chevron_rightIs there an annual assessment charged to the homeowner(s)? Yes, the Board of Directors establishes a budget in the 4th quarter for the upcoming year. The annual assessment is then determined based on the budget and any reserves that are needed. Homeowners are notified by December 15th, and the assessment is due by January 15th. Failure to pay the assessed dues on time can result in late fees, interest at 8%, and the HOA's cost of collection including legal fees. Ongoing unpaid assessments can lead to a lien being placed on the delinquent property.
HOA Events

chevron_rightWhy don't we have a summer/fall Pinestream party any more? In the past, Pinestream party events were somewhat controversial. While the events were generally well attended and enjoyed by many, there were also many residents annoyed by the events. Polls taken in the 2015-2020 time frame were fairly evenly split (virtually 50-50) as to whether the community wanted to continue having block parties. Some of the common reasons cited for continuing the event included:
- It's fun to meet and greet Pinestream neighbors (old and new)
- Members enjoy the food (pizza & snacks provided) and drink (alcohol was not provided at the event, but members could bring their own)
- Fun and games including some creative activities were enjoyed by many
Some of the common reasons cited for eliminating the event included:- Too much alcohol was around, some residents had too much to drink, and acted inappropriately
- Location was never optimal regardless of where held (and not on my cul-de-sac)
- Too much garbage was left in or around my property
- It cost too much money, I can't attend, this shouldn't be paid for by the HOA, I want my equivalent dues back (about $7 / home was spent)
As a result, board members and volunteers for the committee became tired of the bickering, and no longer volunteered their effort to make the event happen.
